New School Governor Needed
Do you fancy a new challenge to join our Governing Body and be part of our vibrant school team?
We are looking for a new Governor to join us. There is no age restriction, qualification and indeed they don’t have to have any existing connection with the school. Please can you pass the message round that we are looking for new governors—maybe you know someone who might be interested. If so, please read on.
The Governor-to-be must be committed, enthusiastic and support our co-operative values. They will be expected to attend meetings and from time-to-time come into school for specific work (recruitment, gathering evidence of impact of our work, health and safety checks, financial work, to meet the children etc) The priority is their commitment and enthusiasm.
Schools rely on the additional expertise and challenge provided by non-teaching professionals, local community members and enthusiastic Active Citizens who all help with the strategic running of the business. Our governing body maintains a skills checklist to try and ensure we have representation from a whole range of skills that can contribute. For this reason, Governors come from a variety of professional and non-professional backgrounds—some are elected parents but the rest are ‘chosen’ so that we can have balance across our team.
