Rhinos and Rugby
Southroyd has close links with The Leeds Rhinos, who are our co-partners in the Inspire Trust. We share cooperative values and benefit from close links, with support from Leeds Rhinos within our curriculum. As well as a regular Rhinos coach in school, we have enjoyed inspirational meetings with ex-players like Jamie-Jones Buchanan, and enjoyed excellent opportunities to enjoy Headingley rugby ground.
Southroyd already shares a history with Leeds Rhinos, with Sam Hallas, a Southroyd pupil at the start of the 2000s, signed by Leeds Rhinos in 2017, before moving to Bradford Bulls in 2020.
We know that many of our children are inspired by our links with the Leeds Rhinos.
