Sunflowers

Who are we?

Sunflowers is based in Southroyd Primary School, Pudsey. As part of Pudsey Children's Centre we provide integrated child care and education for children aged 2-5 years, along with family support services, groups and activities for families in the Pudsey area.

We work to the early years foundation stage curriculum to ensure that your child has the opportunities to develop in a safe, caring, fun and stimulating environment.

Details of our planning through the children's interests is displayed in the room. Weekly information sheets are provided to share our current planning and how you can support your child's learning at home.– Please look out for the “At home” learning sheets that you can take home with you underneath the Keyworker board.

Key person: when your child is allocated a place at Sunflowers, they will be allocated a key person.

This person will make contact with you to arrange your child's initial visit/ home visit. They will then work alongside you and your child to ensure that their transition to Sunflowers is a happy and reassuring time for both of you. The key person will then play a special part in your child's time at sunflowers. They will ensure that your child's needs are met and that they have full opportunity to develop and progress in all areas of their development.

How much do we cost

Our current rates are £4.60 per hour. We charge you for the hours that you require and do not have fixed morning or afternoon priced sessions.

£2.00 per day is payable in addition to your child care fees   if your child is staying for lunch

Parents as partners. We recognise that a parent/ carer always knows their child best. We will always share your child's development updates with you and encourage you to look through your child's profile as often as you can. We would also love for you to contribute to their profile and our planning by sharing any thing you have noted at home that your child has learnt or is interested in

When are we open?

We are open Monday to Friday from

7.45am to 6.00pm

50 weeks of the year.

We are closed bank holidays, Christmas/New year week and 5 staff training days a year.

Welcome visits.

As each child is different, we cannot say how your child will react to their new surroundings, peer group and carers, even if they have been attending another day care setting or left another carer. It is therefore important to take your child's welcome visits at their own pace and individual needs. Each visit can be discussed with your child's key person.
